I’m not the same person I was a week ago.

On a physical, karmic, and seismic scale.

Magnitude 9.0

Life is in session.

I feel deeply shaken. Torn open. (Uncomfortably) unsure. And treading, cautiously tip-toeing beside newly unearthed fault lines, I shared with a dear friend that maybe this experience in my life was an opportunity to show up that much more powerfully for those in my world: my students, friends, cherished family.

And this dear friend (who I will leave nameless, unless this wise sage should like to step forward,) responded:

Maelyn, wait. What if you were to show up right now just as you are? Vulnerable. Raw. Deeply human. Forget powerful. Be YOU. Just as you are. That’s what the world needs.

What if you were to do that?

I’m not the same person I was a week ago. And that’s a good thing. Or…deep breaths, *will* be. But I am (still) here. With and for you. Reflecting and human’ing so hard.

As another brilliant and intuitive friend shared, we chose this human experience. And while we are human in some expressions, our Spirits are immeasurable courageous. And indefatigably capable. After all, we are eternal. Infinitely Divine.

So, I’ve turned to prayer—brought to knees and yoga and chanting and meditation by this recent life earthquake. Calling for ease, currying favor – lobbying one-part request, some-part petition. A makeshift bargain, then browbeaten truce…my jury-rigged Hail Mary for appeal. And while broken and burning in this fire of transformation, through this invocation of full surrender, came a Divine message:

Hello you. Yes you. In all your magnificent You-ness. Be here now. Stay and sit in it. Don’t forget: You always were the miracle.

I’m not the same person I was a week ago.

I’m evolving.

It hurts.

And I’m ok with that.

I love you.

And YOU too are a miracle. Thank you.

I love you. I love you. I love you.

Joy beams and good juju!
