(Consciousness-Tested and Divine Feminine Approved!)

Here at One Great Gut we know (and our medical advisory board wholeHEARTedly agrees) improving gut health begins in the belly…of your belief systems. As scientific data and research increasingly reveals the blueprint to health and wellbeing lies in holistic harmony, we’ve taken it upon ourselves to seek out only the best in nutrition, lifestyle activities, mindfulness, and academia for a full body/mind/spirit boost. Admittedly, we’ve got scrupulous standards a discerning palate—after too many years of bloated belly we’re committed to solely embodying the ethos of a Buddha Belly! Which is why this weekend the rumblies in our tummies are ALL butterflies of excitement for Shakti Fest 2017. Drop your old-school Rx, and snag this new prescription for positivity, served Shakti-style. Come hit the desert for some playa-side probiotics and a serious shot of the sacred. Vitamin Good-Vibes ahead!

This weekend Shakti Fest returns for its seventh year at the beautiful Joshua Tree Retreat Center in Joshua Tree, CA. The sister event to fall’s Bhakti Fest—the forerunner for conscious festival experiences, Shakti Fest is a unique spring fling in the desert devoted to celebrating the divine feminine spirit. And aptly, this year the festival falls on Mother’s Day weekend itself. From May 12-14 this heart-centered revolution will feature premier yoga classes, world-renowned Kirtan musicians, transformational workshops, a sound dome and healing sanctuary. And for an extra juicy deep-dive the festival offers Pre and Post Intensives on the 11th and 15th of May.

Ok, but really…what?
In Hindu philosophy Shakti is defined as the “dynamic force which moves the universe.” Get ready to be invigorated, energized, and revitalized by the buffet of offerings, including continuous Kirtan, yoga, guided meditation, wisdom workshops, fire ceremonies, massage and bodywork, energy work, intuitive readings and countless other healing and life-optimizing modalities. Also on the festival grounds is an eco-friendly village, holistic marketplace, and healthy vegetarian cuisine from incredible vendors and community partners. You’re guaranteed to plenty of OGG-approved nosh and nibbles.

Mother knows best…Choose to commune with Mother Nature, whether in a tent/RV/yurt/or local hotel, there’s nothing quite like savasana beneath the stars or a sunset sound healing.
And really, Mother does know best. Don’t forget to wear your SPF’s as you prepare to meet your new BFF’s!

Fellow gastronauts, come dive in! We promise, this weekend when you hear “IBS” the only thing you’ll be thinking of is: Intentional. Blissful. SHAKTI.
